"Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response (ASMR) is a euphoric experience characterized by a static-like or tingling sensation on the skin that typically begins on the scalp and moves down the back of the neck and upper spine, precipitating relaxation."

ASMR can be triggered by sounds such as whispering voices, saliva sounds, eating sounds and sounds such as fingers scratching or tapping a surface, the crushing of eggshells, or the crinkling and crumpling of a flexible material such as paper.
There are many videos on YouTube featuring people whispering and/or making such sounds in order to intentionally trigger ASMR in those who view / listen to them...

THE SOUND:
We've aimed for a reverb-drenched wash of distorted-guitar-like sounds on many of the tracks here - paying homage to the ethereal, atmospheric sounds of the revered 4AD label. Then ASMR-triggering voices & sounds are overlaid to achieve further layers of atmosphere...
